Hi everyone. I am trying to get my 80 overlanding ready and I am looking for a used roof top tent that can fit two or more people and a portable refrigerator/freezer like a Dometic or ARB. If anyone is wanting to upgrade or get rid of your used stuff we would be happy to buy your equipment. Thanks.

I've got tent I'll part with. Pm me for details.

I am putting the finishing touches on a fridge shootout review. Dometic was the most energy efficient of the bunch. By a large amount. So you should take a look at them. I reviewed the CFX-65DZ (Dual Zone). You can't go wrong with an ARB but there is a major price difference.

I have a ARB 37 QT fridge pm me for details

Having done several 5+ days trips I really find the warmer (~10-15°) compartment like the ARB very nice. The warmer compartment keeps lettuces, spinach, berries, and fruits lasting much longer while keeping bev very cold. Many like the freezer option but for me it would be a waste of space. Consider your cooling needs and wants its much more important than a brand IMO.
My fridge choice for the last several years has been a Waeco.

I have found 100 watts of set it and forget solar will give you 32° beverages without running you Cruiser in the hottest part of the summer. With that said I dont camp I travel.

The Dometic would still work well for that and give you a freezer section if you are on a "budget." I bring a lot of "What if" food. Typically of the frozen variety. I hate to throw stuff out when I get home if it has thawed and I won't have the opportunity to eat it the same week. The Indel B's "dairy" section is even warmer than the other models. That can be a pro or a major con depending on what you want to store there.

You can't go wrong with an ARB. Some folks don't like the lid style of that and the Indel B so the other 2 models are good alternatives. SnoMaster makes a variety of single door models as well and those have reversible lids.

The ARB lid and other that open the same way suck. Side opening, removable, and reversible for the win.

I have an edge star and it is doing well. I think Phil has had a few as well. Side open lid and very pocket book friendly.

The ARB lid pulls straight towards you and comes off. None issue for me. I guess if you want access through those fancy flip up windows of yours then yes a front opening lid would suck.:)

The clearance above needed to open is where the problem is for most. FWIW I dont use my fancy Flip up windows to access my fridge:flipoff2:but you would be correct on the great option that is now available. :D

Those two fingers would be all you need to pull the lid off.
