Ok, so I've been on the look out and have talked with a number of you, but am not quite sold on anything just yet. I'm looking for a "lower" mileage Land Cruiser that's has documented maintenance and is well cared for. By "lower" mileage, I'm looking for something that's under 200k miles. Bonus points if it's under 150k miles. I don't care if you're overloading and off-roading, or if it's your mall-crawling garage queen, but I do care that it's been well cared for.

Ideally? I'd like a moderately built (lift, wheels/tires, ok with front bumper/sliders) 06 or 07, although the I'm ok going all the way through the 100-series years for the right vehicle. If you have an LX that you'd like to tell me about, I think I'd rather have it built already. I would like it to retain the factory rear bumper and tow-hitch for some light-duty towing if I so decide. I've also found that the heavy duty bumpers and tire carriers generally won't fit into my garage! Colors don't matter (EXCEPT NO GOLD!), although my preference would be white - I'm open to anything if it's the right vehicle. I'd like something that either has the factory NAV/rear camera, or has been upgraded to have NAV (hopefully CarPlay!) and rear camera. The vehicle MUST be California emission eligible (look at the Federal emissions sticker under your hood).

I will say that I'm stupid picky on the interior condition. I know these things get worn over the years, but I've seen some pretty lousy examples with some pretty hefty price tags. I'd like to see the driver's seats that are in great condition - or have been replaced.

Price-wise, my budget depends on what you have available. We can talk about what that looks like. $25k or less is my preference, but I also want the right vehicle (have I said that already?).

I know I'm asking for a lot - but communities like this are awesome for what they can deliver sometimes. Let me know if you have thoughts or questions, and certainly post up what you have!

Thanks all.

I just posted this up. It does have an aftermarket bumper but it does have an integrated hitch and is wired for lights (I have towed a light inflatable boat before). I know you didn't want gold but figured I would see if you were interested anyway. Well cared for (have a maintenance list) clean title California car.

Thanks for sharing, Tech. I'd seen your car before. I'd like to get mine to that point, but yeah - Gold is out of the question! I appreciate the thought.

I've an 06LC w/191K and 07LX w/162K both gray on gray i'm restoring now. The 06LC is linked in my signatures. Miles are a bit higher than your looking for. But keep and eye on my signture to see if I get another. PM if I can help out in your hunt. I also do PP inspections, within 200 miles of Denver.

Rebuilt title just fender bender and I have photos from the accident. 1999 excellent interior condition 98K miles, less than 1000 miles on tires, dissent aluminum bumper. Utah

Dan, have you seen this one? I'd be giving this a serious look if I was looking to buy right now. Still for sale at $15,500.

Not the OP, but sending a PM

@GunninIt there is a 06 LX black/tan here in Boulder with 137k miles. KY truck until 2 years ago. Good records, very clean condition inside and out. Seller pulled the Craigslist ad recently, but I just texted him and it’s still for sale. Listed for $22K, I talked price down quite a bit before I bought a higher mileage option. DM me for details or a seller intro.

Gone now! Thanks for looking out, Ben. I did have the chance to drop by Steve's shop the other day. Man was that fun. We chatted a while and talked about your old truck also. I think if he didn't already have three or four sitting in his driveway, he'd have bought it from you too! I have Steve keeping his ear to the ground also. He had some amazing trucks at his shop. I was hoping there were a couple for sale, but nope - not at that time.

The search continues. I've been talking with a lot of folks, which is good. Just haven't found that perfect one yet.

Shoot me a text at (775) 7four2-3sixsix9. I'm kicking around selling and just started looking at what's out there to replace mine. It's at 87k miles, second owner, grey interior and near perfect.

@GunninIt Don't know if you saw this one. Know that it is not quite what you are looking for but a damn good deal I think (would be on it if he was interested in trade or if I had the direct cash).

Pending pickup on Tuesday, but it looks like I’m off the market.

Found a local selling an ‘06 LX470 in impeccable condition, with great maintenance history. No accidents or any other noted problems. Just over 100k miles. Timing belt service done less than a year ago. White (which I wanted) the light tan interior (which I wanted), and loaded up. Even got it for a “reasonable price” given what we’ve seen similar vehicles go for.

Here she is parked next to our Grand Cherokee.

Congrats - what’s the reasonable price?

I’d be fine with $25k - the jump to a 200 would be an extra $10k+ minimum

Pay for it, enjoy it and don’t look back
