Hey guys, title says it all. I'm looking at a steal of a deal on a 2nd gen 4runner. However, I'm a little tall...

I don't mind buying deep bucket seats, pushing them all the way back, and reclining a little, but I don't want to practice for a career as a contortionist.

So, fellow tall guys, help a brotha out.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, the owner came clean as to why the 3.slow 4runner is so cheap - threw a rod.

The search continues. At least now I know I fit in the things.

Buy it and drop a 7mge or 3.4 liter in it. Thats the only way a 2nd gen should be built.

The problem is that I have no idea of the price of doing that. He's asking 1000 for it. It's an auto 2x4, I want a manual 2x4.

It's in immaculate condition, 3" lift, nice wheels and tires. But I imagine that I'm looking at at least 3k to get it the way I want it.

There's nothing on earth that would get me behind tghe wheel of an auto 3.0, Keep looking, and good luck!

I'm 6'5" with long legs. I have built seat extensions for three different rigs I owned with minimal effort and $$.

These were a bit more work, I had to weld on nuts to the rails in order to clear the automatic seat brackets... but with manual seats, all you need is a drill, hack saw, high strength nuts and bolts, and two sturdy pieces of steel that can be purchased at almost any hardware store.

Manual 4cyl over the auto 6 for reliability and ease of service, but for driveability the Runner is much better off with the latter.
Flowstate, at 6'5" I can testify that the 2nd gen has enough headroom for me while the 3rd gen with sunroof does not.

Nice! Thanks for the info, guys. Really helpful. I'm still looking around, but bound and determined to get one of these.

wow, 2wd, auto, 3.slow

It has all the worst combinations possible! he better pay you to take that thing.

The only thing worse that that is:

Auto, 3.0, 4X4 with the fluid-coupled T-case. 0-60 would have to be measured on a sundial.
