Exploding Gas Cans

How? Are we not supposed to pour gas next to a combustible source?

I've got 2 of the blitz cans...they leak and I plan to replace them but I've never had one catch on fire or explode! I also don't have spark or flame near them...it's a gas can.... Wow a flaming stick next to a gas can make it catch on fire, who knew lmfao

All those warnings about not refueling equipment when hot and "Flammable keep away from Ignition source" are not enough to keep people from being stupid

This reminds me of a funny story because I have seen a blitz can catch on fire. I had a stupid employee that tried cleaning a spark plug by burning it. Well, he put it down in the parking lot under the tailgate where some gas spilled. That ignited, flames went up to the tailgate, and then to the can. Five gallons of gas burning in the back of the truck! Well I grabbed the burning can and put it down in the parking lot. It tipped over and then we had 20 foot flames in the parking lot. Ah, good times! FD came out and put it out.
