I'm more familiar with the older land cruisers but am looking at a possible 2002 100 purchase. It is not local and one of the pics of the gauges shows that the VSC off and VSC trac lights are on, but nothing else. I have seen some threads about these lights being on, but haven't confirmed whether they come on for a few seconds at start up normally or if they only come on when something bad has happened. I just want to make sure that the picture is showing that something needs to be fixed and not just a normal startup procedure or something. Any thoughts?

Hey, satchel! I actually just bought that vehicle (it was in Austin correct?), so I'm curious about this also. Hope you find another soon! But for future reference on the next LC you're looking for maybe we can get some more information about this.

The lights stay on, but the vehicle drives great and there's no check engine light. I'll post what codes I get when I scan the vehicle. Any other information people have on this would be great! I'm new to the forum so there's probably some articles about this I don't know about.

Check your ABS codes. I had to change a wheel speed sensor this summer after The ABS and VSC TRAC lights went off.

Probably just the button in the center console (near the gear selector)...

I set mine to look like that for snow driving. I hate the way the the ESP system beeps and interferes, so I just disable the system until I get on the highway.

In my 2001 it meant the vehicle speed sensor was out or faulty. It didn't show on any OBD code and the dealership couldn't get a code either. They made an educated guess and it fixed about $400 later.
