Anyone have a line on the viper ceramic 30% tint? I've tried everywhere local (Boise) and online. Can't seem to find a source to buy enough to do my fronts. Thanks for any leads.

There is a thread on here that a member offered to have fronts cut and shipped for people, but it never materialized (or I missed it if it did). I'd like to get some as well... If not, I'm just going to put 30-35% "regular" all the way on my LX soon.

The Viper website has a dealer locator on it. I'm going to call around to my local places and find out if any of them have the Viper ceramic 30%.

If they will sell it to me by the foot, I'll try to pass some along. It doesn't look promising as the other thread has 6 pages and no luck on a group buy.

I found a shop in Dallas that carries it, they are out of 36" roll right now, but expecting some next week. The guy on the phone said he'd sell it to me by the foot, so I'll try to snag some extra. I'll let MUD know if and when I can get some elusive Viper tint.

What is so special about this Viper tint? I would like to tint my 100 down the line and would like to use a good tint.

Please enlighten! :hmm:

Nothing special really, except it closely matches the OEM gold shaded back glass. There is another thread titled "redid my tint..." That shows what it looks like. I've only used Llumar on my house and cars with no issues.

"Nothing special really"

It's only nothing special if you don't give a $hit what your truck looks like! :) The viper is the only tint that closely matches the super funky OEM bronze reflective glass which was on the early model 100s. The viper isn't perfect, but it is pretty darn good, and looks far better than lots of other options I've seen.

^Yeah, That's what I said. If not for color, I'd be buying Llumar ceramic instead of tint from some company that also sells remote starts and doesn't appear to be widely sold like some other products. Llumar or 3M may make the viper tint for all I know... Just looking for a close match like the rest of the monkeys.

I agree. Hate paying a premium for an inferior product unfortunately not many options.

Should've just bought an '03+ with the easily matched glass! :)

*2004+ is the change, 2003 still has the bronze reflective tint

I had mine done at Sound Sensations in Marietta, GA. Not sure if they're willing to cut and ship, but you can call and ask. They had a roll of the ceramic 30% in stock.

Thanks for the lead. I gave them a call. They are checking to see if their dealer agreement allows it. Also email Viper directly for a source where I could order some. They never responded.

I have thought about swapping glass many times. I'm getting very close to doing it. My rear hatch glass is from a 2006. I found an entire set of 2005 LC black tinted windows on car-parts for $225. I have to get my tint redone this summer, as well as replace the window motors.

Thoughts?

Asked Viper on their Facebook page. Told them none of the dealers listed on their site sell on install their tint and asked for an online source. They just replied to IM them the names of the naughty dealers. Didn't respond with anything helpful.

Smh. I've never seen a product so hard to obtain outside of a few select stereo/tint shops. I was willing to buy a whole roll, presumably with some markup. I'm just going to try to get 5'-15' and move on. It's already hot in TX.

I should find out this week. Noonan, if I obtain some extra before you find some, I'll sell it to you at whatever it costs.

Getting warm here as well. Hoping to get this done before we are in the 100's and I'm miserable. Sounds good. If I manage to get a hold of any I'll post on here as well.

The shop got back to me. Viper told them they couldn't ship to me. No reply from Viper directly either. Ask me to tell on their dealers and then ignore me. Bizarre.

I was the guy who got my tint installer (awesome guy with a high volume shop in Portland) to agree to pre-cut the front windows. Viper strung him along for three months and through many phone calls. He finally told me I would prob have to find another source. I did a quick run up to AutoFX in Tacoma last week to get my windows done. Another MUD member had found Viper 30% there. I asked if they would sell by the foot or pre-cut. They declined since the film is a rare commodity and apparently is a match for some early Mercedes and Audi tints as well.

AutoFX also filled me in that my guy in Portland probably wasn't able to get Viper to ship him film because he isn't a Vioer premium/premier dealer.

My apologies to all involved that my guy in Portland couldn't get the film despite being willing to cut it for us all. That said, if you are in the PNW, AutoFX did a good job on my 99 LX for under $150.

I got my windows tinted a while back on my 2000 with a bronze type film just not sure the brand just something the shop had at the time however if you are getting your windows tinted don't hesitate to have the windshield tinted as well. I had mine done in the lightest shade and it has been awesome. Most shops also have a near clear tint that reduces solar gain and you don't even know its there. I would never tint a vehicle without doing the windshield again.
