Did any of those 80's start the Dusy with fender flares? What was the smallest lift/tire combo you guys had? I'm hoping to run it next year and trying to prep as best I can. Great videos by the way!!
Thanks
Paul

I had one flare left that was removed by the trail. It's pretty tight for 80's I'd expect some minor rubbing to occur. With enough patience, time, and spotting anything is possible though.

We had a 40 on 35's that had no problems and I had about 3" of lift at the time. You don't need 37's. :smokin:It's more a marathon type trail and that makes it a mental challenge more than anything. You're focused not for minutes or hours but for days... Easy to lose focus and that's when you damage something.

Bring spares and extra fuel... I tore my front sway bar off as well as the rear sway bar but nobody broke anything major. There ain't no help out there! Plan to spend some time chilling at ershim lake.

Finally!:flipoff2:
Great videos brett

Hey Noah yea your 40 made things interesting the last couple miles still amazes me we only had to pull cable once or twice to get it out. The 80 legendary status is well earned. Hey it was fun for me. :flipoff2:

For sure its the plan to go back in 2015 in that time frame. Rubicon too a month prior maybe.

lol, I am sure it was fun for you! :) not so much for me. Don't want to relive that ever again! Tires pumped up to 40 psi, getting yanked through boulders in the pitch dark using a headlamp as a headlight (while snowing). My whole body ached the day after all of that bouncing around.

Clear your calendar Rufino we're going back in 2015 around the same time.

guys, I am serious, the 80 will be ready, I finished school and am working again so I am game! I would like to get a 4 inch lift and 35's on the truck, but as it sits now I would take it (33's and 2 inch lift/armored). Let's plan it. I gotta get it on the calendar early on if we are planning to run it.

33's are questionable but certainly possible. It would just be a bit tedious. 35's will make it pretty elementary. We'll coordinate together via email to get the dates ironed out.

You guys give me a date so I can plan my vacation for it. Must do it soon because I need to make my vacation dates pick.

I'll just stay behind you Brett and you can strap me, lol. Seemed to work last time. All my junk is armored to the hilt and I like dents.

I am good for the dates you posted Brett. The dates really are not a big deal, I just need to let the hospital know way ahead of time I will be away.

TJ is back but he does not post on the forum much. You are more than welcome to join us.

how much did you guys save to go on the trip?

also what are the 10 most important spares tools to have with me?

I ran the Rubicon a couple years back and would like to run it again but I am more interested in Dusy. How long did it take to run that trail? Which trail was technically harder and which trail did you enjoy most?
