Hm, I'm not sure. I just watched a video about phasing to understand what you meant. You've given me something else to explore, thanks.

So I have the same symptoms as Chrash.... im at 200k plus, so instead of two new U joints and labor @200$ish dollars, would it make sense to just get a whole new drive shaft at 400+ dollars and all fresh everything? and its an easy DIY that way?

Thoughts?

I just picked up a new DC Tatton front shaft based on that logic. I also have 2 sets of OEM joints in the back of my truck. Have yet to install them should do Monday.

Sounds like a bad tire, since it appeared out of nowhere. Take it back to the tire dealer and have em check for a busted ply

I'm on brand new tires .... i was at 55kon my old ones(Duratracks) so I figured get new ones to see if that was it.. it wasn't but tread depth was low so I don't feel bad about new shoes :) .... DC was next suspicion ...

Coincidentally, Youtube suggested this video to me the other day. It demonstrates the use of the "NVH" (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) app. The app can supposedly diagnose first through third order vibrations in tires, drive shafts, and engine:

The app is too expensive for an individual ($500-ish), but it might be worth looking for a local shop that uses it. Just a thought.

Interesting, yet expensive

Wow, that would be really cool!

Forgive me if I didn't see it mentioned, is this vehicle lifted or at stock height? Thanks!
