Hagerty is ridiculous, as when I tried to get a policy for my 80, they denied coverage since I said I would be taking it off road. Amica, saw the "flag" on my vehicle (grey market), denied coverage. Liberty granted me coverage (see my post), and a month or so later, my company, Allstate, got me coverage and this is the same company according to the Internet, was not going to insure grey market vehicles anymore. I even saved $8, from Allstate. Granted, I will add more coverage when all is said and done, but $40/month is paltry.

I also have two other vehicles with Allstate along with homeonwer's too. No scars on the license either.

That's interesting about Hagerty as they have a check box for their quote that says "Offroad". Checking it or not does not affect my quote.

Haggerty told me over the phone flat out that there was no way they could insure my 40 if (1) it ever went offroad and (2) I didn't have locked, 5-side covered storage. That was about 4 years ago. Regarding (1), club runs were allowed, but only on paved roads. I called off my specialty insurance search after that since they were the last of 4 companies that I tried and I was tired of it.

The bad thing is all the people I know who have them and are letting their vehicles rot out in the elements but still drive the snot out of them. Somebody's gonna get screwed on a claim there and I guarantee you it won't be Haggertys.

Importantly, if you get specialty coverage form anybody, make sure to have plenty of receipts, pictures, documents and proven research that you can turn over to them in the event of a claim. They all have much better lawyers than you.

I have never offroad any of my classics. That is not right off road is wrong people

When I purchased the Hagerty policy for my 40, they asked about mileage, I told them 1000 to 2000 a year, no problem; they asked about where it was parked, I told them a car port which was a deal breaker until I provided photos of it parked there and it was allowed; they asked about off-road excursion and I told them it would be a once or twice a year event which was allowed. Got $40k agreed on coverage for $426, upped it to $5k for $25 more per year. I did go through an agent in Thomasville and I suppose she was the inspector and did take photos prior to agreeing on a policy. The one time I had it towed, after the paint shop finished and it was stripped of body parts, Hagerty couldn't get a tow truck to me quickly enough and checked back later to make sure it was towed with no problems. I can also add that the prior company I had it insured with only allowed $5k value for more $'s per year. I'll stay with Hagerty until something goes south, if it ever does, then I will look elsewhere. Disclaimer, this is my experience and yours might be different. Your opinion of Hagerty might be different than mine and that is okay as well.
