My valve covers are starting to leak. How difficult is it to change the valve covers? Anyone paid a shop to do it.

It looks pretty straight forward to change. Anyone know the torque spec on the valve cover?

Likely you just have loose bolts. They tend to back out on the 2UZ. Check them and I suspect that is your problem.

If the gasket is leaking, tightening the bolts probably won't help too much. You might be able to clean them and put the old gasket back on, but a new gasket is cheap enough.

I has some dampness three years ago... Heard the loose bolt problem. Tightened them. Still dry today. Again... It is a common problem in the 2uz. If it is really leaking new gaskets make sense, not hard. I am doing all that I'm the spring when I do the starter and 200k service
