I've searched but haven't found a step-by-step guide. Does one exist?

It's my understanding the intake needs to come off. I'm trying to get a parts list together to get this job done with minimal downtime. Thanks!

I did see this video on YT:

Thoughts?

looking to do this my self this winter . but just wanted to say if u werent already planning to do this but might aswell adjust your valves while u have the cover off. im hearing valve tick but it only sounds like its comming from under the intake manifold side lol. but i've done similar setups u should just need intake gasket and vc gasket. if u cant find an online step by step just get a chiltons

Adjusting the valves is a good idea. Be aware it takes a special tool to extract the shims out of the buckets under the cam. Looks like this:

You can find these on eBay all the time. You can get the shims out with a prybar and magnet, but it takes 2 people and it's kinda difficult.

You also need a good set of feelers, and a good micrometer, and hopefully a dealer close by with a good selection of the shims in stock. The FSM shows how to do it, with a big table where you can lookup which shim to get based on how far out the valve is from spec.

PITA.

Well I'm doing a timing belt also...never thought to look at a valve adjustment. Thanks (I think). ;-)
