Need a new valve cover gasket and I'm not sure if I should just buy just the gasket, or buy a set that comes with the valve cover grommets too? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The valve cover gasket and the grommets are re-usable but I would replace them if they are worn. Remember the torque specs on the valve cover nuts are in inch lbs...so pinky finger tight. I used a dab of rtv to seal the gasket in the corners and middle sides of the valve cover before placing it on the head.

They're separate parts that are not related. Kit builders like to add extra parts to a kit to get the price tag up. If you bought them from Toyota, they're separate part numbers and sold individually. No kit.
The top valve cover grommets usually wear out because the cover nuts are tightened too much which over compresses the rubber and eventually makes it split
