I opened up the front dome and found only direct power from the mirror vanity lights and the sun roof. Where is a good ignition power wire to splice into?

Given the complexity of the electrical systems / computer controls in these rigs, I think your best bet is to add an auxiliary fuse box that pulls through a relay that is tripped by the ignition. That way, you isolate the auxiliary loads from Mr. T's wiring harness. Short of that, I think your best bet is the cigar lighter or power port in the center dash.

I ran my power wire to the fuse block under the passenger side dash and tapped off the NAV fuse - NAV on = Valentine One on.

How do you like that V1 mount?

So there is not switched power in the mirror?

The mount is bullet proof - very sturdy.

I didn't want to go poking around in the overhead wiring.

I have a much older Valentine One. Is that a new mount or an aftermarket?

. Holy crap $90 for the mount?

Regarding tapping into the mirror power. Did that on my LX 470 and no problem. Did it on my previous infinity g35x and it blew a fuse in the ignition which prevented the car from shutting down or changing gears. Wife stranded with tow. That sucked.

There is a web site that has the short power cords to go into mirrors with specific instructions - forgot the name.
