I've repowered an hj60 Toyota landcruiser which had the 2H engine, which has now got the 12HT engine. There are a lot more vacuum line fittings on the new engine, and I was wondering if anyone knew whether there's a manual that will show where the hoses connect to, or if anyone can give any help.

I've looked in the Max Ellery's Factory Workshop manual for the HJ60, and in the Haynes HJ60 Land Cruiser manual, but no joy.

Check the web site birfield.com , they have the factory manuals on there for you to look at.

If your HJ60 didnt have aircon ,the 12HT will almost have certainly had it and there will be a few spare hoses

This maybe what you need.

There is another simpler system here

Twas nothin

That is one awesome site, Ross.

Now watch as some enterprising mind download all the pics, burns it into CDs and sells them to the cruiser community for $30 a pop :)

It would be a bargain if it worked:mad: compared to the pos I bought from EBAY:rolleyes::D

That's the one i have, and from what i can see, the pressure switch for ps idle up should be on the pump?
Can anyone confirm it is useful?
And the valve 23285, what does it do? Just a one way valve?

The 23262 switch on the oil temp, any specs on that?
At what temp should it open for higher low temp rpm?

23262 does idle up when engine is cold

How cold would you say?

And that pressure sensor on the ps pump, i guess you haven't tried it, but any idea at what pressures it works?

Wonder if it can be fitted on my pump...

I tested the switch under the cold water tap and it did not open until I added hot water (luke warm) before it opened, I would say around 25c to 30c.

The power steering pressure switch works when the engine is at idle speed and you turn the steering wheel, its the same actuator as for the air-con idle up. If you turn the wheel at idle the power steering switch idles up the engine, if the air-con is already on and idle up has been effected for the air-con, then the power steering idle has no effect as the engine is already idled up.

The idle up for the power steering is not on all 12ht's, I am not sure whether it was an option, I thought they called it variable speed power steering and it maybe that the auto transmission models got it as on my other 12ht which had a 5 speed manual it does not have the switch on the power steering pump?
