V8 conversion with SM465 (1 Viewer)

I'm mating a 5.7L Vortec to an SM465. Currently I have an F-engine/SM465/Cruiser t-case. I will be using the same tranny/t-case with the V8. I know there has to be guys who have done this before.

How far forward did you have to move the 465/t-case for the V8 to clear the firewall?

About 4 inches

I moved mine about 4 inches.

2 1/2" with the Toyota Transmission.

Moved it another 1 1/2" when I put in the 465/205. I was trying to get as much rear driveshaft length as possible.

I have AA motor mounts and they are set at 10 inches behind shock mount. AA says 8 to 12 so I went in the middle. I have plenty of room for my HEI distributor and more than enough room for a taurus fan on an offset 5 core radiator.
