A 1987 toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 with a 305 chevy V8 with a little over 30000 miles on the engine. Don't let that fool you this truck was built with power and gas milage in mind. It has a ranger overdrive with a 25% overdrive for the freeway and a four speed transmission. The 4x4 works great and has never been abused. it has been used for some family style off roaring (Camping and trips to bogus). Car runs and drives like a dream. Has 3 inch old man emu front and back lift. rides on 33'' tires and has a full size spare. a yakima roof basket is included. He used a Ranger overdrive between the v-8 & 4 speed!!!! It became the adapter if I remember right!!!! Bolts right to both!!! Space fills area perfect!!!!

It actually goes, 350/SM465bellhousing/Ranger/H42/Split Transfer case. The Ranger has end plates that are machined for whatever transmission you want to use. So it is usable for a lot of different applications. It is a heavy duty piece of equipment. It was originally designed to be used in grain trucks to give them an overdrive with the SM420/465.

I knew the original builder of this truck. He finished it about 10 years ago. He ran 235s on it and he was building it to get 18-20 mpg. He claimed he did it but I never took a trip with him to verify it.

I saw this truck again a few days ago. It is very clean.

Every single one of you guys are right you beat me to answering the questions about my rig. ha. Yes it has the Ranger overdrive between the engine and transmission. Transmission is 4 speed originally came with the truck. The truck has 185000miles but the engine is sitting at 30000. i am in boise idaho. and i will get some more pics up soon. The tire are Discovers. with a lot of life left.
