I managed to bang up my "Door Mirror (RH)" (part #: 8791060K60C0) bad enough that I need a new one. It is actually only the plastic housing that is damaged, all mechanical parts are undamaged, camera, glass, retractor, and adjuster all work fine, BUT, the housing they mount to is jacked. Only the "Door Mirror Cover (RH)" is available separately (8791560060C0).

Dealer price at "best deal" I can find is $952.91. Of course, mine is the most expensive version with camera and guide, etc.

I am asking for 'MUD wisdom and experience for finding used parts. I haven't needed any used parts since the days that you grabbed your toolbox and went to the place, told them what you needed, and they said "That should be back on the third row somewhere, go get it and bring it in here, and we'll "figger" the price out."

Does anyone have any tips, experience, ideas, or referrals on finding this used? I'd prefer something in PHX area so I can go get it, but getting shipped is fine.

Thanks!

@ADHLX what year is your rig? And I assume it’s an LX?

edit: never mind. I was going to try and dig up just the components you need but it looks like you do have to buy the whole assembly based on what’s broken on yours. The shell and light are available separately, just not the black mirror surround/support.

2015 LX

Yes, it seems that they do not sell just the mount/support.... too bad, since all of my internal components, which is where the expense is, are fine and still work.

I am coming up dry on the web for any parts, which seems strange... there are so many LXs out there doing mall-and-soccer duty, you'd think there'd be plenty of crunched ones.... I was hoping someone here on 'Mud had dealt with someplace that had some..... I'll keep looking.

You can buy some of he mirror parts separately. The cover is $50. Search Results | Boch Toyota South I would call EB Toyota Parts and ask if you can get the piece that is broken on yours.

Here's my thread on side mirror surgery. How to replace side mirror retract actuator (at least how I did it)

Thanks for this.... it is super helpful for looking at what I need and what I will have to do once I have a new mirror or mount/housing.... I am dreading pulling the door panel, since I am sure there are many connectors and fasteners, etc., and many are probably easy to break as you try to figure them out....

There is a thread on here with a good video on how to pull the door panel as part of the mirror installation. The vid is by an Australian company that makes extension mirrors for the 200. I’ll look for it later when I have a chance.

Try ebay. Might be a longer shot than my Lexus but I found two in the correct color. Right hand is more scarce than left.

If you only want the cover part number 8791560060C0 as you noted, it's here for $45.

8791560060C0 Toyota COVER, OUTER MIRROR, RH, Price: 45.18$, Weight: 0.202kg - PartSouq Auto Parts Around the World

yeah, I thought this was what I needed..... the parts diagrams online aren’t super detailed..... once I got the part in hand and realized it wasn’t both front and back, I took a closer look at my damaged one and realized that I need the whole thing..... but, the new ones from dealers also have all of the mechanisms and the camera included, thus the $950 price. If I could get just the shell somewhere, I could move my good parts over....

Thanks.... those are the ones I had already seen, but with better resolution, both in the pictures and in my head...... I realize now that I should have spent more time looking at my damaged one in conjunction with these diagrams to understand how it is built.

The mirror "frame" is what attaches to the door, and all of the mechanical bits are attached to that. The rim around the mirror glass is part of the frame. I had glanced at mine quickly, and based on some other mirrors I had worked with on other vehicles, thought that the "cover" would be two halves (front and rear) that went around a metal frame that held everything... but these are different..... No worries.... I have a new cover and a new turn signal lamp in hand, so depending on what I find used, I can either use them or take them back to the dealer.

I have put in requests to two places on car-part.net that only list "Call" in the price column. Two others don't tell you much about what exactly they are selling, but I'll check with them as well....
