Is there a higher output alternator available that is a bolt in? And is it necessary or desirable?

Lol Now that I'm thru ordering a L/R pair of the antenna mounts that you're selling
Got specs? Source?(whew... not on your site)
I installed a Slee dual battery setup last week. Right now I'm bogged down by the stereo system... lots of cusswords going on with that @)*$_@#_ If it's not raining tomorrow I'm going to get all of my wiring routed and button the LC back up
I found this (after searching for r2m's thread):
270 Amp XP High Output Alternator - 4.7L V8 2UZ-FE - 2000 - Landcruiser - Toyota - XP Series Alternators - High Output Alternators
All I need is a rod holder and ground (and a lot of money)
Side trip- With the bracket that you sell how do I adjust the antenna for vertical. I have, and don't like, some Comet brackets that "pinch" onto the back gate and they are kind of adjustable in 2 axis.

The idea behind the high amp alternator is for the monster ARB compressor that's already mounted under the hood and future:It's overkill even for the dual Group 31s I have but I splurged on that because I intend to run a line to also charge a trailer battery bank. I ran the stock alt (100A?) in my 2000 LC for years (one Group 31 and two 27s) and the only time it struggled was after running both banks down in a winchfest with batts on combine. It took a long time to get that last 10% top-up on AGM batteries.
The main advantage of the DC Power isn't necessarily the peak output, but what it puts out at idle/low rpms (~200A?). This is great if you're spending days offroad and working the batteries hard with winching/house accessories run with a large inverter etc.
<edit> Also, if you can still find a Mobi-Arc onboard welder, this will run it.
In any case I'd rather be on the long side of amp's and have some to spare than start cooking my electrical system.![]()
Not sure if you were directing that comment to me or the original post, but yes mine is a DC Power alternator! Then DC Power is for you. The armature (and entire alternator) is engineered for that output. Beware "overclocked" rebuilt alternators that claim to be high output.
