Anyone making reproduction license plate light hoods like on my '77? Beno said unobtanium.:hmm:

Huh... I can get these locally for $13 a pop. Just picked up two the other day.
That said, it could be old stock sitting here in the region. There are several items like that.

I went back over our conversation and realized I was not very specific on my request. For the good of the muddy folks that stumble across this thread can you give us the part number and price? I already refurbished mine with a little ingenuity (rusted bolts and such).
Thanks

Or 77 brake booster?

Dual diaphragm brake booster production is on track for October release. It will fit '76 to '83 FJ40s, or earlier models that have been converted to disc brakes.

Progress with the floor mat project is at about the half-way mark. Will trial fit a mock-up with a MUD member in a couple of days. Estimated release date is somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Perfect timing... wonder how many wives just got told what to buy their husbands for Christmas. =)

Super cool-can't wait!

Time for a few announcements! I'll try to be brief here and let you guys check out additional info/photos etc. in my store page.

First, the dual diaphragm brake booster will be available and ready to ship on October 1st. It's already in my warehouse but I need to do some inventory stuff first.

Second, as some you already saw in another thread, we have a few brand new reproduction TEQ mud flaps available. It's not my own product. These are actually trade-ins from a customer.

Third, around late October we will be offering electric power steering for '73 and later FJ40s. I personally believe this is the way of the future:

Lastly, some disappointing news. I decided to put the floor mat project on hold. The project is not cancelled, but I have not been able to achieve the level of fit and quality that is required, so I need some time to regroup.

That's all for now. There will be some other cool stuff coming over the next couple of months so stay tuned.

Nice!

A 'Toyota' electric motor steering conversion :)

What type of price for that?

I'll don't have a firm number to give you at this time, but expect it to be in the $1700 - $1800 range. It's certainly a high-end product with quality components throughout. Variations of this kit have been used in hundreds of vintage exotics in Europe (Lambos, Ferraris, Astons and such), so the product is very well proven. From my conversation with the manufacturer, it can steer a lifted truck with large tires, and even handle hard core offroading (e.g. rock crawling). You can ford water as long as you mount the torque sensor and control unit high.

That power steering looks great! Would love to see how it feels - I test drove a cruiser with a Saginaw power steering setup and it felt like it had too much assist. But maybe that's how it is supposed to be.

That reminds me. Since it's electronic, you can adjust the level of assist with a potentiometer.
