Thank you for posting the pics. Those openings sure do look like factory, captured nuts and all. Just another way to prove that I'm never too old to learn. What other countries got CAN be very different from what I thought is the norm.

It seems that in OZ and NZ we got extra hard to find parts. Seeing as the tail lights are totally impossible to find I'm going to have to just go with whatever came on a U.S. '71.
I guess I'll be making my own inner transfer shift boot too or cut the hole square and use the '73+ one.

You could always put the same tail lights on as I have on mine as they are standard on a lot of the models and are still available new through CCOT.

Yeah mate the same as I have on mine.

Have you considered the feasibility of producing the foam insulation for the rear heater pipes?

Racer, just wanted to thank you for the quick turnaround of the 78 fj40 fuse panel assembly, and the OEM clutch hose ... they arrived today, well in advance of expectation ... the fuse panel and cover look great ...

Glad to hear that. I have to say that's pretty quick for USPS!

Many of the NZ cruisers were complete knock down (CKD) units assembled at the Toyota plant in Thames. Some of the components were manufactured locally (such as the front seats and the jump seats) and therefore these are unique in the world, and one could argue rarer!

Introducing: Cowl vent drain hoses made of Silicone! Recapping the benefits:
  1. Long term durability - Should be the last set you'll ever need
  2. Tolerance to extreme temperature conditions - Whether you live near the Saudi desert or the Arctic Circle, you're good to go
  3. Easier to get on and off as compared to regular rubber hoses
  4. Impeccable quality
  5. Priced below OEM! ($59 for the set of 2, MUD price + $5 shipping)

What years do these fit? The earlier years go out through the firewall, and later go down through the floor (or maybe the other way around, not sure). I don't know what year that changes, but I have a 71 and my vent drains out through the firewall. Will these fit my 71?
