Just throwing this out there, without opining so much on the looks of the thing, but we're probably looking at the future of "affordable" off-roading rigs from Toyota here. With the full-size Land Cruisers selling at such high prices, and the sales success of the FJC in its first 1-2 years, a rig bridging the gap between the 4Runner and the FJC is a conceivable direction for Toyota to take.

I don't think it looks too bad.

I don't care for the 'metal tape' look on the front bumper, steps, and roof rack. It looks cheesey and cheap.

I would've liked to have seen more FJC in the rear (less 4Runner). The bezel looks unfinished with that big gap.

Where is the white top?

I like the press realease:

"Rugged off road vehicle"

Specs: electronic doo dads everywhere. Oh and dubs.

It looks it would cure the rearward visibility problems that the FJC has. If it works better, it doesn't really matter what it looks like. Still, a 78 would be even better.

Maybe I missed it, but what's the difference between this thing and a 4Runner? Other than the grill. And the dubs

Damn suicide doors....4 doors damnit!!

It looks like cr@p.

Damn suicide doors....4 doors damnit!!

It does have 4 regular doors, they just open with a switch in the front door handle. Watch the vid in the other thread to see it in action. Nothing that would sell with a production vehicle.

HA! I'm glad I got my FJ CRUISER and not this fruitmobile

I dont think manufactors and aftermarket support is focus on off-road too much. Most people want big wheels, ICE, and grillzzz, rarely anyone care about off road. Seriously, how many FJC, TLC, 4runner and others like Chrysler/ford/chevy procduct actually see offroad, even though they have OFFROAD stickers all over there rigs. Just look at how many of them on DUB rolling around town and the other that look like it can go offraod but really can they? (buncha f250/f150 with really tall lift rolling on 22s with 35")

Not a fan of as it sits, but I could see one done more 'MUD's way with an ARB, vinyl floored interior, etc.
