These two holes have me stumped. What went here? What could possibly go here?

Also... Is this top channel factory? It looks like it will accept a slide in front as well as a snap top. I know this is a 40 and not a 25 BUT I trust the old stuff to y'all.

Thanks.

The channel is factory, but those snaps on it are not. I have no clue what the holes are for, but my 1962 FST had the exact same holes. I welded them up, but I am pretty sure they were in the exact same spots.

It's anybody guess what the two holes in the cowl are for but there are not stock.

Over the years Toyota had different US venders making soft tops. Around the mid sixties Husky of Colorado was making a complete top that Toyota offered to their dealers. It was for a no top model and replacement for soft top. Those snaps may have been needed for that top. It would explain more than one cruiser having them.

Not a bad looking top. Would be nice if they were still available. Better still it you could get them at these prices.
