what happened to your head?

Time to air down big rig.

Well, hard to say exactly what was going through my head, but the toyota gears running in reverse rotation being a weak point was part of the downfall to a rear mount engine. I just tried thinking about it to make sure they would have to run in reverse rotation, but I haven't had enough wine yet to think about it clearly, lol. I didn't really know this at the time, but I have heard people claim that a rear mount motor might be a negative when it comes to climbing ledges, I think it is subjective to suspension geometry and drive-train weight and so on. If i could do anything different, I would got for some stronger axles, maybe some 9.5" LC diffs broached for 35 spline shafts and Dana60 outers. With some 39.5's or 42's. The light weight and weight of the motor being pushed back so far seemed like a real win for snow wheeling. Anything you need specifically answered let me know.

I like the point about weight - snow is like mud and sand combined, and baja bugs do amazing in snow (until they don't, then they really suck). My thought process is better sight lines and not having a hot motor in front of you (which could also spew hot liquids)... I'm a long time from doing such a build, at this point I'd like something a bit more robust then a RZR but in the same basic dimensions... again, time isn't something I have a lot of - so I dunno...
