Tyre question! Help me understand

I'm currently looking for new tires and I've been reading a lot of good suggestions/recommendations in here.

But there is always the talk about "Radial" or "Bias-ply"? Could somebody please explain what those terms mean!?

I guess the "Bias-ply" is something regarding the construction of the sidewall?
I also read that some BFG tires have either 2-ply or 3-ply sidewalls? How does that compare to, let's say, Interco tires where some of them have a 10 ply "rating"?

Hope somebody can explain this to me
