I just wanted to do a little intro post, I've been looking on and off for about 4 months for the right 470 or 460 to pop up. This one came up and I jumped on it. I pick it up tomorrow!

details:
-single owner
-extensive service records
-118k miles
-extremely clean interior
-non KDSS
-non NAV

immediate plans:
-remove the side steps
-go over everything and make sure nothing needs attention

eventual plans: (I grew up jeeping in Colorado and Utah, and plan to get it out there as well)
-2" lift (likely Dobinsons)
-Front UCA
-tires and wheels
-under body protection
-sliders
-new head unit (wife's car has carplay and I've gotten used to it)

Looks good! My wife has the TRD wheels on her 4Runner, and I might have to find a set as well.

I took the steps off already and it is such an improvement on looks.
Yup- looks so much better without the steps. I liked running no steps but wife complained so ended up getting these slee step sliders... she complained about the price. I reminded her they were a gift to her. Most expensive gift I ever got her. Lol

how wide are they, meaning how large of a step?? looking at Hefty Fab sliders, but I really only want steps. sliders are a secondary benefit.

They are pretty darn wide and make a great step- even grandma can use them- and super beefy for the trail. Installation was pretty tricky though with weird sticknut things.

I have really enjoyed this GX so far. I've put about a 700 miles on it this month (which is a lot being I am WFH). I removed the side steps the week I got it, and that was a huge improvement in looks. I also went back and forth a lot on what to do suspension wise. The previous owners just had all new shocks installed at Lexus and I honestly did not want to give up the air suspension or adjustable shocks at the moment. I do plan on towing my other car (~3800lbs w/ trailer) and assume I will appreciate the air in the rear for that. For now I went with strut spacers in the front. They were advertised as 1.5" but it looks like I actually measured 1.75" right now, it may settle out to 1.5". I also tricked the bags in the rear for 1.25" inches. I adjusted toe and camber to spec, though they needed very very little adjustment. I did also add bump stop spacers in the front so that I do not bottom out the shock. I will likely hold off on an actual alignment until I get new tires.

All in I am very happy with it. I got a little more clearance for taller tires, and it still drives exactly like factory. I am planning on going to 265/70r17 and don't want to worry about rubbing. As far as I can tell I will be perfectly fine. Pic:

Great solution. I have dobinsons 2” with comfort shocks and I definitely miss the stock suspension performance. When I bought it it was the smoothest car Id ever driven out on the windy country back roads. After the lift it is the least smoothly driving car Ive ever owned. Still acceptable but not great.

LOL @ "Salsa"

When I bought my Prado it was advertised as "Wine colored." Plan to repaint with my GX conversion but keep the same color.

BTW, any link to those spacers? Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Had been debating on going dobinsons but I daily this thing so not wanting to go too far with it. (plus short parking garages are already scary in Tokyo)

The Lexus name for the paint is "Salsa Red Pearl"
