This thread is a bit unconventional, as is my build. The reason being is that the vehicle is almost complete after over 2 years of hard work on it, and I've kept the build relatively quiet. The 2UZ swap is still somewhat rare, and there's only one that I know of using the 5 speed auto...forum.ih8mud.com

Yes. It’s appealing for a few reasons. A few random thoughts off the top of my head....I'm curious about this as well. All I can figure is that Jeep's coils are set up for the 40's similar weight much better than the 80's.

1. Using a frame that is set up for a 4 link that has a ton of aftermarket support.
2.I haven’t seen this done yet so the thought of doing something outside the box to create conversation is something I can get behind.
3.Leaf springs are simple and they work but they are lacking in comfort on a short wheel base vehicles. The TJ ride is much improved.
I’m currently trying to locate the doner 40 to start the process on.

I did not see how the transfer case shifter came in. Maybe it's a button?
