Also drove about 50kms in the ute over the weekend with some of that on a local dirt track to give everything a good shake. Few things to tighten up and rattles to investigate now, but overall I am stoked with it.

Awesome mate

Thanks all!

Another cool thing recently completed. I needed a new glow light, and brake and battery warning lights for mine. I found some locally 2nd hand, but couldn't justify the price. Decided to design some up and have them made and we now sell them through Monster Rides. (unfortunately the filter one ended up a little off center)

Pics of the F250 Shock Tower and 10" travel bilstein 5125s installation. I cut and straightened them in the press, then welded up the gap and ground them smooth. This allows them to fit in the stock inner guard opening and more clearance to the tyre when flexing.

Hey mate. Where did you get the shock towers from?

THAT IS A KEEPER...............WELL DONE :bounce::bounce2::clap:

So it's been a long time since I updated here. Ute has had some finishing touches done and is finally getting some use and even dirty!!

First thing was I added some leaves back into the rear springs which levelled it out much better.

And then the coolest mod, some hand painted pin striping by Rod at Eastcoast Airbrushing.
East Coast Airbrushing

Went with double chocolate lines down the sides and a small design on the centre of the bonnet and the tailgate.

Also had the original TOYOTA font airbrushed onto the tailgate to look like the original stamped one.

After about 1500kms of driving since the restoration the old tired 2H really started to spew massive amount of oil out of the crank case breather. I had a provent fitted to try and catch it, but the filter blocked within the 1500kms. My original motor was just too far gone to be running the 12psi (up to 15 occasionally) boost. I thought this would happen, just not this quickly.

Turned out a mate had an excellent condition 2H under his which I ended up purchasing. Fitted this over a couple weeks and the difference it how it runs is amazing. No smoke on cold starts, smooth idling, and smoother power. Well worth the effort.

Old engine coming out.

While I was doing the engine swap I had the stainless intake pipes and tailpipe polished by Darrell's Metal Polishing.

As quickly mentioned above the Classic Landcruiser Club of Queensland recently started up. If anybody with a 40/42/45 series landcruiser is interested in joining here is a link to the website.

I ended up designing the logo for the club. Pretty stoked with how it turned out.

How's that turboed 2H sound with the stainless system?

Some pics from Roothys Tagalong weekend at Landcruiser Mountain Park (and the opening of the Classic Landcruiser Club of Queensland). Ute went really well out there, with the only drama being the intake hose popping off going up the range on the way out there, then a blocked air filter from the air filter getting a bit wet in the big pen then covered in dust on the way back to camp. Sunday morning saw the filter caked solid and not letting any air in.

I entered the ute in the show n shine held out there and ended up winning best truck overall with a prize of an Opposite Lock 40 litre fridged (Stoked!!!)

Then of course he had to take it for a drive.
LCMP_RoothysTagAlong-8_zpsvfu1wkza.jpg

Which in turn meant I took Milo for a spin. (I'll keep the ute thanks, haha)

Now the show n shine was done it was time to get it dirty. So went in to the pig pen for a couple drinks and a dunks in some mud. Need to re-visit my airbox setup for any future water/mud crossings. I thought it would be pretty protected in the back passenger corner of the engine bay sucking through the vent on the side of the cab. But the filter got a little wet then blocked with all the dust on the drive back to camp.

Most recent trip was a quick overnighter to Booloumba Creek in Connondale National Park (near Kenilworth). Amazing place with crystal clear creek crossings and some deep swimming holes. Can't wait to get back here.
