Finished tig'n up the center console then the phone rang. A guy with a Volve turbo responded to my wanted add in Used Vic.

Now I have a center console and a turbocharger! All in one day. Sweet.

Think Ill make another lid for the console out of MDF or plywood and cover with fabric as the Aluminum armrest might be perpetually cold on the forearm.

The rectangle hole by the cup holders will be full of acc. switches and I plan to mount an aux fusebox in the side of the console some where at somepoint (so its not really finished but what ever is) lol..

Just thought I'd share what I've been up to.

So i was thinking....

I could get the center console powder coated for $30 (cheap)

What do you all think??? Raw and shiny or Powder coated gray to match interior??

As for the completion date... Hmmm.... Hopefully I will get the diffs done over Xmas. And then it should be drivable again.

I'm accumulating turbo bits over time and when I have them all together Ill bribe Ken with whatever it takes and get some of that cool whining sound his 60 makes.

Well I'm off to the garage to clean the turbo and dream of going up hills in 5th.

I also say go for the powder coat grey for the console, I think it will look way better. Plus great score on the turbo.

Here is a pic of the centre console. It worked out well and I'm glad I scrapped the aluminium lid idea.

I still haven't finished the wiring, come spring I plan on doing a full re-wire when the interior is out of the truck.

Andrew's posted video might help although there wasn't much idling along in low gear.
