Any update? Did Rick check it out?

Didn't find anything. The last two alignments didn't have a castor adjustment. Thinking that might be the issue.

I was having a vibration issue with my 08 so I first brought it to Toyota for a wheel balance, that did nothing. I've rotated the tires as per recommended and now notice heavy wear on the outer edges. I asked my dealer to do an alignment two weeks ago, they told me to get new tires first, and that the vibration may be a balance issue. I pointed out it was recently balanced. So overall I still have the slight vibration issue and have yet to get an alignment.
First 12k my rotors warped out, replaced under warranty. 15k later those warped, they could only cut them. 12k those warped again, complained and they replaced the rotors for the "last time." That was two weeks ago, I'm sure they will warp again, probably right before I leave for Moab.
I had the hack done on my truck to the gas pedal, I'm at 48k now but have the 8x125k warranty, how can I get that new pedal?

Gotta love those Giants!

OB, you can go to the dealer and have them replace it. Toyota is suppose to replace the pedal for customers who are unhappy with the hack job. There was a recall for it. If they tell you the part doesn't exist, tell them to follow you to the nearest 2012 Tundra on the lot and point to the pedal assembly and say "I want one of those".
It's only $30 the part # 04000-0440C

Jason about the dieseling at start up. What viscosity oil you running in it?

When the 2nd gen Tundra was released in 07, The big 3 were caught with their pants down. And they have been playing catch up ever since. And when the 3rd gen is released it will happen again. And if Toyota ever releases a diesel-Game over!

in my opinion Jason's issues stem from spring fatigue or suspension sag. The front of these truck's are double wishbone and as the springs age the front drop slightly. As this happens the wishbones flatten and the distance between the wheels grows. This is evident with the first alignment from TownFair tire which showed and equal toe issue on both front wheels.

Then as this continued the subsequent alignments showed a camber issue on the right side coming in.
The second alignment was at Boch Toyota which they didn't seem capable of reading caster. The third alignment was at Firestone who also couldn't read caster but did show the camber issue and elected to do nothing about it.

The truck's alignment needs to be squared away and if this doesn't take care of it I would be investigating the idea that the front springs are the cause of it. In fact I'd star taking hub to flare measurements and try to determine if and by how much the front has sagged.

Agree with you on the diesel. Wish they would just do it already!

I take it to the dealer for oil changes. So what ever manual calls for.

Okay Chris, I know of 5 of us that have these trucks, OB, StinkyFinger, VTCruiser and myself. I know VTCruiser has had major work done, OB and myself have problems. Hopefully you don't have trouble once the warranty is up.

Wow after reading this thread I don't know if I want to buy a tundra, am looking for a new truck, so I don't have to keep using my company truck anymore.

You know it just got the front end damage fixed from the guy that was using the truck before I got it. They are kinda tighten the belt so to say, just that time of year again

Any interest in a large sport utility? My buddy is selling a mint 2001 Yukon Denali, It will pull the trailer and be a good kid transporter.

Rick, do you think I would be better off getting an OME 2.5" lift and being done with it?

I would work through this and figure out what exactly is going on. Maybe a few guys can measure the distance from the center of the hub to the bottom of the flare so you can compare trucks.

At this point I think it is a spring issue but am not 100% sure on that.

My measurements are 21.5 driver 21.75 passenger from center of the hub to the fender.

Mine has a lift as well.
