Both the stock Tundra brakes and the 16' and newer landcruiser option will work with 17" rims.
The rock warriors were an option for the tundra and fit on the newer cruisers.

That's why I was wondering. I have rock warriors on my lx but all the 16+ cruisers come with 18" rims I believe and since they changed the brakes I was betting they didn't
Hi, I have a 2013 with the Rock Warrior wheels.
1) Will the tundra brakes fit with these 17" wheels? I realize these are Tundra wheels, but I'm not sure if these new brakes were released at the same time as the 17" RW wheels.
2) In order to do this upgrade, does anyone know if I can just go to Toyota and request the new brake system for my 2013? Or is one of those things that they won't do? I honestly would prefer to do this myself but I don't have many tools and since this is my wife's primary car that she drives my kids around with, I'd rather have the pros do it.

Yah the tundra brakes will work just fine with the 17 in RW wheels, to your second question my guess would be a Toyota dealership would not touch this, but that's just my guess...
Rather than swap in Tundra brakes and try to deal with the issues with different brake host fittings, I would look at swapping in a set of brakes from a 2016-2017 model. The '16+ has larger rotors like the Tundra and different calipers.

The 354mm x 32mm rotor upgrade may soon be obsolete. The 360mm x 36mm curved vane rotor is much more capable, and the price shouldn't rise too much, either.

I do, finally, have a set of 2016 calipers on the way. They will be compared to the 2008 - 2015, as well as the Tundra units. The Tundra calipers not only have longer mounting ears to accommodate the 354mm rotor, but are beefed up in keyed areas to improve stiffness, this includes having bridges that are about 1.5mm thicker than the 2008 - 2015 LC units.

The 2016 caliper has changed its mounting bolts from an M12 to an M14. Unless the mounting holes in the forged knuckle are enlarged, it will not bolt on.
You have to wonder why Toyota do these things sometimes, so the bolt centres are still the same?
I'm still trying to justify if the 7mm radius increase is worthy, or I guess I should wait for your 360mm details to be released.

i'm in desparate need of a front caliper/rotor and front pads. After riding on Stop Tech drilled rotors+TRD pads for the past 9 months I discovered today that my front rotor was cracked (along with a bad front caliper; 2 upper piston orings blown outon rt front caliper), while doing a wheel ballance. good times... My question if anyone can help me is while shopping for front calipers+rotors, will Tundra TRD calipers+rotors fit my 08' LC with stock 18''s and 285/65/18 KO2?

Are you looking for cruiser calipers or tundra. There are other parts that have to be changed out to swap from cruiser to tundra
it would depend on $ of parts for the Tundra or preferibly the TRD upgrade. What would I need to do to add TRD or Tundra capipers+rotors?

This is exactly the reason I won't run slotted and drilled rotors. I know better from my track days. They are opportunities for stress risers, especially for a stressed part that sees potentially dramatic heat cycles, depending on use. Yet most general users never truly tax their brakes with hard stops from high speed, yet pronounce their upgraded brakes as "better". It's a strictly a styling feature. Racers that truly use brakes avoid this stuff.
Metallurgy is another hit or miss. A lot of the aftermarket stuff is low grade castings with marketing and branding. The good stuff comes for a price. This is another reason I do OEM when possible. You know the stuff is quality controlled and validated. When most people question stock brake performance, especially on a higher priced vehicle such as the LC, it's because its worn. Refreshing it with new stock parts, a good flush, will bring performance back.
Thans for the reply. I put 21k in the past 12 months so probably aprox 15k in 9 months. My 08' has 172k so I'm guessing the calipers were oem orig. My bud who pointed out the o-ring piston fail in the failed caliper pointed out that the two o-ring pistons that were torn (?) are what caused the fail. Apparently once the piston rubber rings failed, heat caused the crack of the rotor which in turn shreaded my TRD pad like a chease grader. My left front caliper/rotor and pad show normal wear...
When I upgraded to Goodrich steal lines,StopTech drilled rotors+TRD pads I should of gone with nw calipers as well, at the time finances did not allow that...
Can I "plug and play" 07'+ Tundrea TRD caliers+rotors?

To do the tundra swap you will need:
Backing plates, rotors, calipers, brake lines.
Look up the thread: stop collaborate and listen. It goes through the swap and should have part numbers for everything.
If you just need new calipers and pads with stop tech stainless lines I still have mine from pre-swap. Approx 150k on them. Arizona a truck, so no rust.
Make a killer deal on them.
Backing plates, rotors, calipers, brake lines.
Look up the thread: stop collaborate and listen. It goes through the swap and should have part numbers for everything.

I know this thread has aged quite a bit, but I'm replacing the brake calipers, pads, and rotors on my '08 TLC and am looking to upgrade for better braking. I read through this thread and understand that the 2016 TLC brakes are improved considerably. The quote above confused me though...Brian, are you referring to 2016 TLC or Tundra calipers? Are the 2016 TLC brake components direct bolt-on to the 2008 TLC? I have all the part numbers (thanks fellas), but don't want to order the parts to Hawaii only to find out they won't work. Thanks for the clarification.
