Hi there, I have an 85 fj60 which I have yet to start an overhaul on, it's in pretty rough shape underneath.

Has anyone made, considered making or have engineered drawing/plans for a tubular chassis? I have been contemplating fabricating one for my rig for a while now as oppose to patching or finding a new one then altering it for SOA and possible coil spring swap. I realize an 80 frame might work better for that but just checking.

I have a buddy that makes tubular frames for his stock cars from ground up that may be able to help if I go that route..

Thanks kindly for the insight and responses!

Cheers

I have nothing to help you with a tube frame. Putting a 60/62 body on an 80 roller has been done several ways and pretty well documented. Your buddy that builds race car frames would have little problem taking the 4 plus inches out of the frame and adding to the rear of the frame for the longer overhang.

Here's one

Thanks guys, some things to consider!! Will keep scanning through the 60 forum for posts and watch here. Cheers
