Oh great mud mind, hear my pleas(e)!

So we got another snowstorm this morning and I was out in the Troopy. Started running the windshield wiper and got a buzzing coming from (seemingly) underneath the dash by my legs (RHD). This is on the opposite side from the wiper motor.

For those of you helping my answer this puzzle, here's a link to a video of the noise. With the wiper running, it would go for approx. 20 seconds, break for a second or two and then continue. When the wiper was turned off, it stopped approx. 5 seconds later.

It's an odd one - any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Evan

It sounds like your intermitint wiper relay is playing up. It has a electric moter that turns a gear about every 20 secounds.

Aussie,

That sounds very plausible. Thanks for the lead. I'll start chasing that down.

Best,
Evan

Thanks

Thanks Zimmi, that's great. Will definitely subscribe to that thread and pull/clean the relay.

Best,
Evan

Thanks!

All,

Just a quick thanks for the advice and links. Was on site with the Troopy this weekend and found, cleaned, and re-installed the wiper relay. Works great, no noise.

The only odd part was that it was just hanging in the area in front of the driver's knees. Not connected to anything and didn't even have the cover. Trying to track a cover down now through the classifieds.

Thanks again all.

Best
Evan
