Between needing a bed and more space for the wife, two kids and the dog, the time has come for me to sell my 2003 Land Cruiser. I hate to admit that it hasn’t been offroad in close to 5 years and it’s been hard knowing how well it is built but not being used. The milage per year has also dropped pretty heavily since just before COVID as my work assignments changed (closer to home) and over the last two years its been more around town duty getting driven a couple times a week.

I have owned it for about 8 years and 130k miles. Purchased it completely stock from Seattle-area in early spring of 2016 and have slowly built it out over the last 8 years. Mechanical/driveline and suspension work handled by professionals and body armor, misc items installed by me. Includes closed to $40k worth of maintenance, repairs, parts, & mechanics receipts from the life of my ownership.

Broad summary of modifications below:
  • Body Armor: Dissent front bumper with hoops, Smittybilt Winch with Synthetic Rope, full Dissent Aluminum Skid Plate, Slee Sliders, Slee Dual-Swingout bumper (last generation)
  • Suspension: Full 2.5” Slee Heavy Kit, including UCAs (installed by Slee), Ironman Foamcell Pro F/R shocks (Installed in last 20k mi), Trail Tailor extended sway bar links F/R
  • Driveline – Eaton E-Locker Front and Rear with Toyota Factory Switch – Installed by Land Cruiser Specialist 4/12/22
  • Exhaust – PS cat replaced 2018, DS cat and muffler replaced Spring 2024
  • Audio – Grom VL2 with wireless Carplay
Heavy Maintenance/Repair Items Taken care of in the last 3 years/20k miles.
  • 4/16/2021 – 237k mi – Full tune up including Timing belt/Water Pump, belts, plugs, fuel filter, radiator replacement (original rotted), cooling system flush. Ironman Shocks installed around this time. Land Cruiser Specialist. Heater Tees replaced about this same time with Toyota Tees by me.
  • 4/29/2023 – 246k mi – Steering rack replaced, tie rod ends, lower ball joints, MAF and alignment. Land Cruiser Specialist
  • 8/8/2024 – 257k mi – Brake Master Cylinder replaced and system flushed. Land Cruiser Specialist
List of all maintenance records I have is at the bottom of this post. I am missing an oil change/tire rotation receipt here and there but oil has always been changed between 5k and 6k and checked regularly. No noticeable oil use or leaks between oil changes.

Our 100 has taken us all over the southern and western US with continued trust and reliability no matter the route we’ve taken. We’ve used it through Death Valley, Joshua Tree, multiple mountain passes through southern Colorado and of course long highway drives from one place to the next. I have always taken care of items quickly and correctly and would trust driving her 1,500mi without any hesitation right now.

Some of the general good:

  • Seat controls work as they should
  • Vent windows work as they should
  • Side mirror controls work as they should.
  • AC blows very very cold minus the usual “if you are sitting in traffic it warms up a bit”
  • Trailer light connector has been relocated.
  • Minor frame surface rust, body looks great
The not as pretty/items that could use some work:

  • Sunroof works occasionally but doesn’t leak from what I’ve seen
  • From the drivers seat window controls the passenger front passenger window will go all the way down or all the way up, can’t stop it in between. Works fine from the passenger seat.
  • Someone did try breaking into the drivers side door once and pulled the handle well enough that it has separated from the door. Haven’t taken the time to fix it
  • Steering wheel adjustment motors are worn out and it doesn’t like to move.
  • Split seam on the drivers seat bottom
  • Some dings and pinstriping
  • Cracks in windshield – none in drivers sight line and have been there for a long time
  • Couple spots of the ceiling liner could be re-glued
I am asking $30,000 for this well built and sorted Land Cruiser and really hope it can go to a home that will use it for what it was built for over the next couple hundred thousand miles. Between the well cared for Land Cruiser itself and the value in the aftermarket/modification parts alone that have been added (over $13,000, excluding installation costs and major maintenance/repairs) I think what I’m asking is reasonable considering how much more it would be to build a similar 100 from scratch but I am open to discussions. I know well built vehicles are a difficult thing to price as it is.

Also included is a homemade drawer set up that has been carpeted and built to match the height of the folded rear seats (has worked well for sleeping on at times). Can include or take out.

Also available for purchase is a Tepui Rugged Autanna 3+ if interested, could maybe work something out if it is included in the purchase.

I will get more photos uploaded over the next couple of days as I get it detailed and cleaned out but if there are any questions in the meantime please let me know or any photos or videos that would be helpful. Trying to be as transparent as I can, this has been a great vehicle for us and we’ve made a lot of great memories with it.

What’s the estimated selling price on the raptor? Asking for a friend.
38.5 is what I’m thinking on the Raptor but not yet set. Mechanically fully stock with CarPlay mod done and some accessory type items.

@TnTnola don't know if your buddy might still be interested but Raptor listing below. Looking for $36.5k which i think is pretty fair given the miles and everything else going on.

Your 100 series looks awesome! I have a similar one, a 2004. I'm thinking about selling mine and wondering how to price it. Would you mind telling me what yours sold for? It would be helpful in pricing mine. Thanks

Your 100 series looks awesome! I have a 2004 with a somewhat similar build. I'm considering selling mine and trying to figure out where to price it. Would you mind telling me what yours sold for? Thanks

Thanks! For that reason (and I didn’t love the raptor meant to replace it) I kept the 100 and am now selling my lower miles raptor.

Did have a couple of tire kickers and I didn’t post on FB. Biggest concern question I was receiving was just the number of miles.

Thanks for the info. Somewhat surprising that mileage was an issue.....as with proper maintenance (which you have obviously done) these rigs will go almost twice the miles yours has on it. I'm sure you will enjoy many more adventures with her if you decide to keep it.

Yeah no regrets on my side with keeping it, just told the wife we’ve got to get out and use it more.
I think the folks who reached out just saw a cool looking Land Cruiser and didn’t know a whole lot about what they were looking at, the miles are up there but I’d have no hesitation driving it across the country right now.
The market is also hard to get a good gauge on, at least around central Texas I think things have cooled a bit in the used cruiser world but there are new Prados EVERYWHERE

The market has cooled here as well. If I only get lowball offers, I'll keep mine as well. Like you, I would drive mine anywhere with confidence.
Cheers
