As in the past, let's make some suggestions on a location for Winston.

Some guidelines:

  • Should be local - not a chain. Let's help companies, not corporations
  • Should be family friendly somewhat. Not Chucky Cheese, we're not trying to cater to the kids just make sure they're not left out. IE: no strip clubs ;)
  • Should be on the East side of Winston - A lot of us are coming from GSO.
  • A big parking lot for us to line up the rigs
Some suggestions:

Camel City BBQ
Willows Bistro

I'll add these to a poll - if you have suggestions, please make them here and I'll add to the poll. As in last month, highest votes wins.

Also, feel free to suggest KVegas locations if you know of any that might fit.

We need to do a Sunday club run to Hill Billy hideaway(?)

Ehhh. Perhaps used to be great food. Tried it a few weeks ago and was under impressed with both food and service. And while I don't wish to kill the idea outright ........

NO BEER.

Different strokes/different folks. I'm a fan of some home style cooking, but it seems like a lot of the home style cooking places around here cater to the bland side of the taste experience, in my opinion.

Not that I want everything to be spicy, but if I'm having fried chicken and I don't taste anything but salt and oil, that's not worth it.

The no beer thing seals it.

Voted Camel city. Place looks pretty cool. Menu from Willows didn't appear to friendly for the littles.

I'm in. I'm Ok with either. Other suggestions, Cin Cin Burger bar or Quiet Pint Tavern.
Quiet pint is a bar but is kid-friendly. FYI - we bring our kids there and everyone is always friendly to them. :-)

I'm hoping to make this one but will not vote because I'm sure something will prevent me from coming. Unless, that is, y'all wanna move it to maybe...eh, Concord?

But seriously, does anybody else like the idea of finding a cool, homegrown brunch spot somewhere between GSO/RDU or GSO/CLT and having a backroads caravan from each place to the destination on a Sunday? Just a thought.

I'm down for a group meeting for all three areas.

Asheboro is a nice central point for all three. Perhaps Shandor can make a suggestion near his place since he's down there..

Checked again, the true center is as shown:

That's the long and the short of it. I hear it's a hard place to get to.

Quiet Pint - Parking is minimal but you can park across the street at CinCin. They have outside dining and ok for kids
Camel City has decent parking across the street. Outside dining area, Food is decent and prices are Fair, Great for the kids
Willows -has great parking and a small outside area, Food is amazing but pricey, no kid food
CinCin - Parking is good, small outside area and food prices are fair. Kids will be ok there

Just my 2cents. Quiet Pint - I like the idea of sitting outside to watch people, stare at our rides.
