So I decided to support my cruiser garage add on with a tree that was lying around the farm. Turned out great I think.

That's gorgeous. Is it attached to the concrete at the bottom or just sitting on it?

Nothing like stiff aged woody getting good use anyway possible.

You might want to slide a piece of rubber (or EPDM) membrane under it. The wood will draw moisture from the concrete over time and rot out at the bottom.

Rubber for woody. As it should.

Isolating from the concrete is a must do. Structural wood touching concrete needs to be PT per code in my area, due to the moisture.

Attaching the trunk to the slab with maybe just some angle brackets and wedge anchors is just to prevent knocking it out of place with a vehicle or piece of equipment. Probably not necessary, but a thought I had.

Again, love the detail. Keep sharing progress.

I doubt that there is much in the way of snow loads in Alabama, but you still have wind loads that could impart a lateral force on the column. It's always good to understand the forces you're dealing with, but definitely so when you start going outside the box with designs.
