I'd plop down the cash for the Slee/SDHQ battery terminals.

After the unimpressive quality of the mounts i paid good money for, i wont be buying those from slee thinking they are the "best".
I dont know what they are smoking up there (jk i do).
Unfinished raw edges and sloppy as hell welds and super low quality laser etched logo....

@grinchy product guru, you found some really good ones on amazon if im not mistaken?

To each their own, but I have always had good luck with my Slee products over the years. They are brackets, personally I don't care about refinement on something that shouldn't have much of aesthetic to begin with but I can understand how some might.

Im sure their “real” gear is great. As is reflected by everyone using them.

And i don’t much care for how the brackets look in this case as they aren’t visible, but you shouldn’t have to cut your hands up taking them out of the box.

The terminals however at $200+ i think is a bit much, although i may not have much of a choice for a “guaranteed” fit.

I got a screw terminal battery. Then some copper strap from the metal supply. Probably not the best solution. But it was certainly inexpensive $20?
I’’m using a generic negative disconnect and also a cheap high amp shunt in the negative side too.

They are billet and not as good as say some lead/MILSPEC terminals. @tbisaacs if you really want some Slee ones I have the ones I took off my 80 series.

Fair enough, but does anyone have links to said option?

@CharlieS I hear ya. I’ve done it. Would love some boot recommendations.
Here is what I did. Not saying it is good, but it is one approach. And looking at it just now made me realize that I've lost some of the caps I put on some of my terminals, so I need to go get some replacements. Under the coverings are Slee billet terminals on the starting battery and milspec terminals on the auxiliary.

When you upgraded to the HID lights you went with the 35w right? Is there a reason to not go with the 55w?
Yea 35w. The difference in output is negligible IMO. The extra watts are mostly turned into heat.

Ditto. What shall i put in there for future expansion that wont break the bank?

My optimism about the starter was foolish. She’s laying dead at the end of my driveway.

I drove it earlier today and had a no start but then it clicked over. I was in a rush when I got home and spaced on pulling it in the garage and we got another week of snow and rain so replacing on the street will not be pleasant.

Talking to @radman Im gonna try to bang on the solenoid and or screw driver trick to try to get it in the garage in the daylight.

Counting my blessing this wasn’t on a snow run. Don’t be like me, if you suspect it, replace it.

Maybe you can winch into the garage?

And that’s crap unlucky.

If you need a starter in a hurry I have one on the shelf in my garage.

I've read about the long screw driver method but also jumper cables on a long screw driver. My smooth brain doesn't know how this works.

@TeCKis300 I saw you in this thread, do you know?

It's a hard enough job with good weather and that looks cold. Like you, I have a hard time picturing how to start the car with a large screwdriver given how long of a reach it is, and the potential for a serious short.

I was thinking along the lines of @grinchy to winch?

Thinking outside the box - try jumping her again with as strong a power source as you can get, with the hope that it'll start one more time. If you can, try charging and topping off the battery. Even better, try jumping the car old school style with another running car which will probably give it the best chance to start.

Thanks for that. I'm facing the wrong way down a sloped driveway to winch but need to think about it. I stuck the noco on it and no dice but might try to jump old school tomorrow morning.

With the jump, have the other car rev to ~2-3k RPM to give it better current support.

If that doesn't work, can you put the car in neutral to let it roll back and square up with the driveway? Then winch in?

Starter procured. Thanks @grinchy

Working plan is to tag team with @LCMoneyPit and winch it backward on to his trailer and position to roll off into my garage. Assuming the weather cooperates.

🤞🏻🤞🏻
