My 93 developed a leak in the dipstick tube last night. I noticed this morning when after parking with the front end down the hill. The leak is when the welded tube from the pan meets the filler tube. It looks like the tubes should slide together further, but all the brackets are tight and nothing moves around. Has anyone else run into this?

I had a guy tell me to just clean it up and put some JB Weld or solder on it. What do y'all think?

Thanks

Thought it had an O-ring? Mine is leaking in the same spot, thanks for the reminder to fix it... Maybe I can find an O-ring that fits somewhere in the house.

Clean it up and Rescue Tape it.... thats what I would do cause I'm lazy.

There is definitely (supposed to be) an o-ring in there. Cheap from the dealer, so no reason to jury rig it.

JB Weld or the like is a BAD idea: What the heck are you supposed to do next time you drop the tranny pan??

Yep, an O-ring. Looking at an old invoice, it looks to be 90301-09173. Worked on my 97 anyway.

Thanks I will call the dealer tomorrow.

i put some gasket maker it works good
but the oring will be cheaper if you dont have some liquid gasket maker.
