Did you have a vacuum shift transfer case in this pic? it looks like you changed it. in the pics where its clean. I cant get my linkage to stay tight when I go from low to high. I cannot find replacements either.

The detents are internal to the t-case. Popping is a sign that the shift fork and/or collar is worn.
 
There is a thread on this I believe in the FAQ’s. Might want to do a double seal while you’re in there. I believe @65swb45 sells what you need.
How do you do a double seal? I replaced that seal (which was a bit of a bitch,) and still leaks.

My Biggest challenge is getting that fricken not off for the ebrake. Any suggestions in addition to "grunt and fart" and curse? I put the truck in gear brake on chick the wheel and it still won't budge. Soak the sheit out of it too with PB Blaster. Thanks, these are great pictures.

I offer speedometer gear housings that have been machined out to accept dual seals.

In removing your old housing to install the new one you will also be motivated to reset the preload on the output bearings, which is often why the seals fail in the first place.
