Does anyone have a pic or link to how the linkage and the possition of the top shift mech.? I rebuilt it and may have put it together wrong????

Thx

No pic, but with the triangular lever the bolt goes up through it with the nut on top. Does that help?

OK...maybe...which way does the triangular lever face?

Anyone ??????

The red arrow points towards the transmission. The threaded end of the shaft screws into the side of the transmission. The blue arrow points towards the front of the truck.

Here's a link to a picture (I didn't find a picture at that SOR link above). http://www.man-a-fre.com/parts_accessories/transmissiontransfercase5speedrebuilt.htm The shift guide bolts to the center bolt on the transmission cover.

Is this what you want?

When installed it will be pointing towards the trans.

However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

T-Case linkage

Maybe this might help. The picture is a little blurry. PS it is also a pre-85.

Well Welcome Fred...there's a 40 tech forum also, you know?......

What do you think about using a nylon lock nut or blue loctite?
The nut physically bottoms out. Properly torqued, it’ll never come loose.
I have literally never had a vehicle come in with this particular nut missing.
