I have just purchased my 1996 LC Amazon, and been doing all the usual checks on the diffs, transfer box etc.
I noticed the auto box was on the low/cool level when checked when at normal running temp, I topped up to the hot level mark.
I read this comment in a reply to clunky gear shifting.
"6. Checking the transfer case oil level and condition is a good start. Occasionally people find ATF in there by mistake. Also check the front and rear axle diff oil levels and top up or change if required. This is also a good time to make sure your diff breathers are not blocked up"
When I checked the transfer box, I noticed it was at the correct level but it did look like it had the red ATF in there, would this be correct or should it be EP 80 gear oil??????
