Tranny ????????? (1 Viewer)

I need to replace the throwout bearing on the pig, but I am not sure if I have the stock tranny. It came with a three speed, but IIRC it was a side loader. the one that I have is a top loader 3 speed. I guess all I really need to know is if the input shafts are the same size, but I'm kinda curious as to what tranny i have(for future reference).

" side load " tranny has shift controls that enter the side of the transmission..

M21 muncie for example...


" top load " have the shift controls that enter the top of the transmission...

Toyota four speed tranny, or sm465 gm tranny...

Not too familiar with the toyota 3 speed, can you give some more info on this please?

the toyota 3 spds are basically the same, the only difference is the top plate, one for floor shift, and one for column shift.

Alrighty,
Then whoever did the swap most likely used the same tranny and changed out the top plates, so I should be safe ordering the 69 throwout bearing.

Who cares what the OEM tranny was? Get the bearing for whats in it right now.If your lucky you might even find some original markings on the tranny,if you can verify OEM Toyota,should be in yellow on the tranny.
