Not that I have heard of. You looking for something cheapier you can go to a auto transmission behind a SBC.

IMHO, there's no reason to search other 5-speed tranny then H55F.
H55F is the best 5-speed tranny for 60/62 series land cruiser.

not if your keeping the 2F

why not .. H55F with really good numbers, in all speed. So better maybe the H151 but does not bolt on on your 2F engine.

Some people use a NV4500 w/an adapter.
The gearing is different and it's more like a truck tranny (a little less smooth and refined).

Yep, NV4500 or H55F. I would avoid the adapters and go with the H55F, but of course what the hell do I know, I am going with an SM465  behind my 2F (autos and SBC suck :flipoff2: ).

I still have a stock H42 and am runnings 33s. Yea, I know H55 is the hot setup but my '84 60 would need the driveshaft mods. I also think I'd rarely make it into fifth gear so I'm intrigued with an H41 - 4speed w/ slight lower gears and no mods required. I've heard there are two different versions out there - one with the right input shaft for me, and one that won't fit.

Anyhow, speaking of transmissions..... I'm a big fan manuals but I was wondering about autos. I know the FJ62 4 speed (H151?) is a tough tranny but has anyone tried a 4L60 behind a 2F or 3F? Adapter cost? Is the gearing good for a 2F? Just wondering. Is it a waste of time?

Are you looking for options to do your own tranny conversion, or just looking around for opinions?

I'm hoping to put an NV4500 (higher ratio first gear, and a steeper overdrive 5th gear than the H55; 5.61:1 and 0.75:1 respectively) in my rig at some point to replace my stock auto tranny. Doesn't look like it'd be any more work than putting an H55 in, with the exception of the extra expense for parts needed from Advance Adapters.

I thougth both H41 are usefull to you ..

one with 4.92 - 2.64 - 1.52 - 1

and the other one with 5.29 - 2.83 - 1.63 - 1

As you see one with pretty much reduction that other .. that is good .. for rocks .. but less easy to use.

A440F is a good auto tranny .. slow .. yes .. better for your cruiser than 4L60, I'm not sure .. in those typo of auto tranny you must neeed to deal with speed sensors .. and computers. if ypoy have a time and knowledge fine ..

FJ62 4 speed . ? mmmmmmm 60 4 speed H42 have very simililar number that shared with H55F without a 5 gear ..
