Are the Torsion Bars on the Tough Dog kit red too?! That would be sweet! On my last build I had Red Sway away Torsion Bars up front and wished I had red coils in the rear to match.

No they are black. I can have them powder red if you'd like.... HA

Jason’s UCAs are the answer. That subtle hint of red looks so good under the fender:

I don’t plan on ditching my AHC yet, but if i dooooo, you know What route I am going!

Jason what all will be involved in installing the 1/2” BL? Will it still require everything the 1” does?
I’ve searched and can’t seem to find a thorough write up on a 100 series BL install. From what I have been able to gather it looks like some bolts need to be accessed from up top? So does this mean I would need to remove my drawers?

L,

All the bolts are removed from the top. The rear bolts are behind and under the plastic D-Pillar molding. IIRC the ARB drawers have add on and removable wings so you would just have to remove those instead of the entire drawer system.

Overall it is plug and play and you need about 1/2 a day.

We did my 1" BL and I also designed, cut and bent the radiator drop brackets in less than 3 hours. But, 2 good wrenchers and a lift made it really easy.

half of my bolts were corroded. The threads looked good, but when the bolt was pulled they needed to be replaced. THis is why I added them to the kit.

Awesome. I’ll plan on 1 full day for 1 dude, no lift, and a dirt driveway.;)
I look forward to seeing these up on your website!

Edit. Nevermind I see that was the primary purpose and you mention that earlier on the thread.

Jason, another question on the body lift. First do you have any pics? Second, will this help with tire rubbing issues inside the wheel well with bigger tires?

Thanks

I have the 1" installed on my 100 with 34.5" tires and 18mm wheels.

Thanks for the pic. In the past I've seen body lifts from side view expose the frame pretty dramatically (Chevy's and Ford's) hows the side frame view on the 100?

If you have sliders you can't even tell IMO. unless you are at eye level most would never know IMO.

The bumpers are what shows the BL exposure on a 100. Mainly because they become tilted/off body line. If the BL is done prior to bumpers and sliders it looks the exact same as without.

I sold my sliders prior to the BL as the reveal was unappealing to me. I built new ones and are at the coater and now working on bumpers to accommodate the BL.

J, that truck is looking bad to the bone.

Don’t think it matters but I could not get that second bolt to line up on both sides. But love the shock guards.
