Was out staying with family and friends near Salton Sea over New Years. Ran some of the slot canyons at Truckhaven / Tierra del Sol amongst the crowds, and then we decided to go find something a little less crowded. I had the 80, and took a friend in a Jeep, and we went up to the top of one of the mountain peaks on the Calcite Mine Trail, north of Truckhaven off of the 86, via Palm Canyon wash. Great trail, spectacular views from up top overlooking the Salton Sea and Truckhaven badlands. A couple rock gardens, and one section where we had to get spotted through. Due to the section being extremely narrow, the Jeep made it through a lot easier than the U.S.S. Land Cruiser. Thank goodness for armor, took a hit to the ARB bumper up front, as well as coming down hard on the sliders, but, that's what they're there for.
