Putting together a combo for a customer, I haven’t seen any finished builds with Tr4050’s on here so I figured I’d post up.

The adapter is made by Axis Industries and is quite a nice product compared to the other big adapter brand.. completely billet plate, high quality hardware with full thread engagement, and even has the proper dowel pins included.
Which while that might seem the bare minimum other companies struggle with this easy task.

Per Axis I did have to cut about .3” off the tail-shaft of the transmission, would prefer they just make the adapter thicker as an alternative but is what it is.

Most of the available new transfer assy’s have the “deep water” breather tube. These need to have a hose and breather cap installed or they will dump oil.

The owner of this combo will absolutely not be doing any mud bogging so I replaced with the “standard” breather cap.

Also make sure you tap and plug the unused bolt hole, just like an H55f installation.

TR4050 is intriguing.
What motor is going in front of it?
I'd like to see a UZ→TR4050 adapter.

If you buy a new transfer case assembly from me or one of the other vendors that sell them, they come from Toyota without an input gear, output flanges, transmission output shaft support ball bearing, and various output shaft lock nut.
We keep these in stock at all times :D

What's the length of the TR4050 compared to a H55f?

I can’t remember the exact length off the top of my head but it’s about 1” longer then an NV4500, and the adapter is 1” as well.

With GM bellhousing and Axis transfer case adapter, approx the same as an H42/H55 + 2F bellhousing + Mark’s adapter.
Basically engine and transfer case would stay in roughly same locations.
