Hey guys,

In an attempt to expand our community and meet other people, as well as see some of the cool cruisers some of you have, I am trying to help combine different Toyota groups in Austin.

Toyota's & Taco's (formerly known as Tacomas & Taco's) are primarily Tacoma guys, but as their group grew they decided to change the name. This is the perfect place to show off your awesome Land Cruiser (or any Toyota really), meet cool people, eat breakfast Tacos....and bacon. Lots and lots of bacon.

Here is the info:

People meet as early as 7am, but I will probably be getting there closer to 9am.

**As always, it is not expected for anyone to bring anything; i.e. food, drinks, stickers, patches, etc. Anything brought is greatly appreciated, but you are still allowed to partake even if you can't bring anything **

Bringing bacon is always a good idea if you're not sure what to bring.

I will be there in my Toyota Corolla as my Cruiser is still out of commission.

Lets unite the LSLC ATX Chapter!

I look forward to seeing you guys out there!

so a newbie question! is this the same event that was at the oasis? if so didnt realize it had moved... will try and make this one and say hello since I'm a new owner... although 7AM on a sunday is not something I normally do :-)

What is posted here is not the announcement for Cars and Coffee, but rather what the local Tacoma owners posted up in their very active Tacoma World thread. I've posted the link to that thread a couple of times here on MUD before. The Tacoma guys are very cool, and very representative at C&C, but if you're going to attend and hook up with them, I'd suggest you pop over to that thread and tell them you're coming, and what you're bringing for the community breakfast. Way back when, when I suggested that the event name for the group be changed from Tacos and Tacos to Toyotas and Tacos, (in order to be more inclusive), the guy that spearheads the group said all Toyotas were welcome, with only two rules; bring something to contribute from time to time, and don't be a dick.

It would be great to see LCs show up and hang out in the lot with the other Toyota owners, but let 'em know you're coming.

One more thing, the 7am start isn't for Cars and Coffee, that starts at 9am. The Tacoma guys show up at 7 to get the cookers rolling, and to mark their turf.

I 2nd this. I usually get there around 8am.

And that, folks, is the aforementioned spearheader... Not to be confused with... nah, won't go there.
I can't take credit for spearheading anything - it wasn't initially even my idea. The meet formerly known as Tacos and Tacos (TnT) has taken on a life of its own and I am simply one of its cheerleaders.

I do take an insane amount of sick gratification in seeing a scientific s***load of trucks at what is considered a "car" meet, especially since the organizers like us better than everyone else because:
- We don't rev our engines near red line
- We don't blare our music at unsafe volume
- We don't peel out of the parking lot (and hit things)
- We don't race through the lot
- We don't get stuck on Mount Ferrari (you'll understand what that is if you've ever tried to enter the Concordia campus)
- We're not dicks, douches, or assholes
- We have bacon

All in all, that's a lot to have going for us.

Oh, and beware of Chad. He "likes" things. A LOT. Prepare to be forcibly inducted into the "Texas Toyota Coalition." It only hurts a little at first.

So If I am going to swing by around 9-10 a.m. I just park in Lot B and walk over? The main lot is for cars in the "show" that pay the donation, correct? As in, I shouldn't show up at 10 and expect to get in to the main lot and park next to the other toyotas...

The $5 goes to charity... and gets you a raffle ticket. I've never stuck around for the raffle, but do always find someone more than willing to take it off my hands.

Raffle?? I thought the ticket for for proof of donation.
I have it in my calendar so it will remind me. I’m about 75% right now. I did have a good time last month. I got there at 7:30 and it was real easy to find the Toyota 4WD section.

I'm gonna try to make it and bring my son. Need to raise him right and get some used Toyota oil in his veins.

Nah, it's a raffle. Besides, with the new tax plan, there really is no need for proof of donations to charity; if you were in a position to gain from the tax write-off, you wouldn't be hanging around here...

This is the first one at Concordia correct? Also, it looks like just one big lot, how you know where the spectator lot is? Maybe they'll have signs or something I guess??

If you scroll up to the satellite view map, the visitor lot is the first right turn after the guard shack. There’s another parking lot in among the trees close by the large field house lot.

They are supposed to have C&C staff directing traffic as well. There are normally about a dozen doing traffic and trash duty.
