Hey,
Looks like next Saturday will be good. Hopefully some of y'all will be free. Let's get together close to Zilker Park. Thinking we could park in the dirt lot that's underneath Mopac off Stratford Drive(I believe it's free). Then we'll have...
Hey everyone, I was planning on making a meet for this month. Sorry for the delay. My schedule is kinda up in the air at the moment and don’t want to post something until I know for sure. Shouldn’t be long.
Thanks!
Good afternoon everyone. Good to see folks getting their Cruisers in shape for the trek to SAS 7. It'll be here before we know it.
Be sure to keep our ever growing list of sponsors in mind when you need parts, roofracks, tires, bumpers and such...
That would be awesome. Yea - there's the loose grave parking lot which I believe is always free. It doesn't have any shade, but would be a great spot for everyone to park. Looking forward to meeting this community in person and seeing your rigs!
Tyler,
You've been doing great. I wouldn't change anything.
-Sat/Sun at different times/places is perfect.
-No stickers/shirt for me, thanks. But I'll buy if you have 'em made.
-No dues for me, thanks. But I'd be happy to pay if that's the...
I’m very excited to announce that as some of you know A.J’s Yotas is getting a shop in Cedar Park. We are moving in a couple of weeks. I will keep you all posted.

Alcohol or ethanol have about half the energy per volume of gasoline, and a really high octane. Which can be useful in some circumstances. None of which apply to a gutless old Toyota engine without making some serious changes. 😆
Any rubber...
Tyler, I’m about 30 miles west of San Marcos. You’re always welcome to come spend time in the shop and do any prep work on your 80. As @SoTexCruiserDoc mentioned, we will be coordinating a Friday run to Casey’s in Amarillo as well. Look forward...
I’m a believer with Ron about the fuel in the 80’s. It happened to me last year and was more than a little concerning. There are 2 fuel stations by camp, one has ethanol free fuel…
Hi @TCruiser93
Since you’re driving a FZJ80, you’ll need ethanol free fuel at altitude and high temperatures. Without it, the gas venting system can’t keep up with ethanol evaporation and builds pressure in the gas tank. When it becomes a...
I'll start another Texas Convoy thread as we get closer to August.
Typically leave on Saturday morning out of Amarillo, go over Medano Pass to the Great SandDunes NP then camp on BLM land south of the entrance to the park. Sunday morning we go to...
You’re gonna have a blast! See Casey’s notes on page one of the original post. It’s about as simple as that. You’ll figure out the rest at camp and there will be plenty of folks to help with that. Don’t overthink it. I recommend you consider...
I know a guy from the Austin area that is going as well and mentioned the convoy and what they did last year. He thinks it might be very similar this time. He mentioned Amarillo Friday, then somewhere else Saturday and possibly classic cruisers...
Definitely stop by Taco Del Gnar in Ridgeway. Ridgeway, Ouray, Silverton and Telluride, etc. have good fuel and they are all within close proximity. Telluride fuel is a bit inconvenient if you are not driving out highway 145. Our stock 4Runner...
