I found a for sale ad for a "65 Toyota Scout"... ??? Does this guy not know what he's talking about or is there really a toyota scout?

Might be a naive seller. Could be a reasonable opportunity.

Hmmmm.

Here's one, it's a '67.

Im with the Ferg...

Toyota dealer in Aberdeen SD(Harr motors) has one, and a few old Land Cruisers too...

that rig looks pretty sick, i'll have to research it, thanks.

You think your Land Cruiser is fun finding parts for....

Good luck...no, really, Good luck!

Was talked out of it by the dealership because of availability..helps to know people that look out for you once in a while...

I believe they share some parts with the Landcruiser, maybe just brakes.

Did a search and saw one for sale, the guy said Toyota told him they only made 6 (yes 6) in the year that his was made, it was a 67 i think.

I also saw one totally restored. Pretty sweet.

I think I'll get one, a welder and a chevy bigblock and go to town. I'm thinking about a dragster/street racer with a big @$$ supercharger. 1200 hp or something. Maybe a monster truck.

its a Stout, not Scout pre thing to Hilux.

4 speed on tree, 2wd, 3RC engine, enh.

guy who said they made 7 any one year lies.

parts are a SUPER pita. Average price is $500 for one. Tailgate and be is similar to 45, but curved sides. I have a friend who has 6 or 7....

like Cramer said, good luck on parts

adding to Rick, 67 was the last year they were sold in the US, there are 4 of them in Gig Harbor, neat little truck but parts are a bitch, brake parts are not the same as a Cruisers.

Get a stout and a crown......and you got a pair of Toyota...that yeah can't get much for.

68 Crown(this is in GH, origianal owner, daily driver)

My mom's doctor in Nova Scotia has a Stout parked in her yard, about the same condition as the one in Landpimp's pictures. I think it's her husband's pet project.

For some reason, I've seen tons of red ones, and one white one--nothing else.

funny all I have seen around here are red(pink) as well. What I like the best about the Stout is the hood, looks like a mini Studabaker truck. The one in my pictures can be bought for 1k, interior is all redone, new brakes and some other stuff.........my buddy who's it is was the Gig Harbor police chief, who just moved and took a job as the assistant cheif in Vancouver WA........so the Stout is still in GH.........and will prolly be moved to my place.....and I don't need it ;)

Cross flow head...Cool. Looks like a sorta cast iron header...cool. Both the Stout and the Crown have a Rooskie sort of design flair. But they only painted things Black, like Henry Furd. Neat, but got my hands full with ONE Cruiser. John, do you need a stable boy to exersize those FJ's? You know they SHOULD be driven. ;)

Again,

Great pics John!!

Thanks!!
