Hope this helps. The first pic is the whole setup in pieces. I havent welded the lower adapter yet or put together as my 40 is in the bodywork phase. On the prius setup the upper tubes are press fit so when you get the whole setup you can remove the outer top section from the inner (lower) tube by pulling it off or using a hammer and wood/drift. I also took a grinder to the brake pedal for a little more clearance. Not much metal needs to be removed and structurally the assembly is not affected.

2nd pic is where i cut and rewelded the upper shaft of the 40 and mated to the shaft of the prius. You can also see the collar that mounts to the key. The lower part of that presses onto the motor housing tube (this doesn't seem to come apart easily and you really dont need to touch it).

3rd pic - mesurement of the upper completed shaft.

4th pic- total length of the upper shaft collar.

5th pic- Lower shaft length

6th pic- lower collar length ( you will need to fab a mount to the motor housing

7th pic- weldable shaft coupler ( this fits onto the gears of the motor.

Thanks much. Very helpful. Appreciate the measurements included. Makes me think I could get there from here!!

The measurements are fairly straightforward once you set out the pieces. Just use your existing shaft and column and you will be able to figure out the correct lengths needed. Placement next to the pedals is a key step. I tried to get it tucked out of the way as much as possible so I had to do a little grinding. Once I get further on the body I will send a follow up on the whole system welded in.
