What’s everyone using for handheld testers these days? Looking for something specifically with the capability to clear out an airbag light that popped up from the airbag cycling over the last year of doing some resto work, but would like to have something in the garage for the future. Thanks for the help.
If you can find a unit that will send alternating signals to different terminals, you can use a generic 22-pin connector to mount it. This is all the OEM tester did.
It's a true PITA to get the timing right to ground those two terminals to clear the light. It'd be nice to know which chip on which board needed to be reset and do it there.
IME when touching the wire to ground (on off on off) do it as fast as you can, ie: don't hesitate between touches. I used
a bolt in the firewall for a ground (AC pipe nearby), IIRC
